Irrigation Project, 2024
A message to our valued golf community:
Quail Ridge Golf Course and the City of Baker have signed a contract to replace the aging irrigation system on the original nine holes. The previous system, in use for over 80 years, was urgently due for an upgrade. This initiative promises enhanced water efficiency, allowing precise targeting of areas needing more irrigation.
The funding for this $1.3 mill project reflects our local golf community’s strong efforts. With contributions from the Economic Development Committee, Transient Lodging Tax Board, the Golf Board, Social Board, Ladies Association, Men’s League, and individual golf community members, the city’s share amounted to approximately $695K. This collaboration among various entities exemplifies our community’s unity and support.
Scheduled operations will commence on Monday, August 12th. Until then, equipment and supplies will be staged between holes 11 and 3. The project timeline is estimated at 6 weeks, aiming to minimize disruption to our regular operations. The team will utilize HDPE piping, fusing 1000ft section underground with minimal surface impact. During this period, the golf course will remain open, with potential closer of one or two holes at times.
We extend our gratitude to the city of Baker and all project partners for their contributions. We eagerly anticipate the positive impact of this efficient irrigation system upgrade on Quail Ridge’s future.
We will continue to update this page as updates become available. We appreciate everyone’s efforts and patience through this project as we work together to improve an amazing community asset.
The irrigation modernization project kicked off on August 12th, 2024. Since then, we’ve made significant progress, with main lines installed and connected to the pump house, running along the left side of number 11 fairway and down number 2 fairway. The goal is to have all main lines completed within the next 2 weeks. After that, work on lateral lines will begin, marking a major step forward in the project. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to make great strides!
